Yashasree Academy
Established in 2004, Yashasree Academy is an institution dedicated to the teaching, preservation, and promotion of Hindustani Classical Music. The academy was founded by Mrs. Vaishali Dhande, Founder and Director, an accomplished vocalist with extensive performance experience in India and the United States.
Mrs. Dhande has received rigorous training in the Hindustani classical tradition and is a disciple of eminent scholars and performers Dr. Vikas Kashalkar and Smt. Arati Anklikar-Tikekar. She has also studied under the guidance of the late Pandit Puranik. Her professional credentials include performances broadcast on All India Radio, as well as formal training in music composition under the distinguished singer and music director Shri Yashwant Dev.
Through structured teaching and performance-oriented instruction, Mrs. Dhande is committed to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of Hindustani Classical Music. Yashasree Academy provides students and members of the wider community with opportunities to engage with the tradition through systematic learning, practice, and performance.
Yashasree Academy is the only institution in the Chicago metropolitan area affiliated with the Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal (ABGMV), Mumbai, offering students a recognized and comprehensive pathway in Hindustani classical music education.
